Arrest warrant issued for suspect in Lewiston, Maine mass shooting
Following a mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine, that left 18 people dead and 13 wounded, a US army reservist is wanted for murder. According to the police, Robert Card has an arrest warrant out for eight counts of murder. According to Col. William Ross of the Maine State police, "It's eight counts because 10 people have not been identified."
Col. Ross stated that the suspect is deemed "armed and dangerous" and is now at large. According to the police colonel, the shooting started at a bowling alley in the little hamlet of Lewiston just before 19:00 local time (23:00 GMT). There were six males and one lady slain. Eight additional males were shot and killed at the Schemengees Bar & Grille, a neighboring restaurant, where the shooting was reported within ten minutes.
Initially sent to nearby hospitals, sixteen injured persons were treated there; three of them eventually passed away. Mr. Card's home was surrounded by FBI investigators and local law officials on thursday night. Lewiston, the scene of the incident, was about a 20-minute drive away. police ordered the suspect to exit the premises "with your hands up" while shouting over a loudhailer.

The search was carried out for unknown reasons, but according to a representative for the Maine Department of Public Safety, the police were "simply doing their due diligence by tracking down every lead in an effort to locate and apprehend Card". A shelter-in-place notice is still in effect in Lewiston and three other neighboring communities. Numerous area businesses, including schools, have closed and will continue to do so on Friday. With the exception of a few dog walkers, it seemed like most folks spent thursday at home. On the streets, police have been stationed.
