70-hr work week will result in Heart Attack for Youngsters - Bengaluru Doctor

A social media controversy has been triggered by Infosys chairman NR Narayana Murthy's exhortation to young people to work a 70-hour work week in order to strengthen the nation's economy. While a sizable portion of the public shared Murthy's opinions, the majority did not. deepak Krishnamurthy, a cardiologist with a practise in Bengaluru, has raised awareness of the negative effects of excessive hours on young workers' health.

Dr. krishnamurthy stated in an X post that working long hours can also contribute to young people's heart attacks, which are becoming more frequent. In his analysis, he broke down the 70 hours of labour each week into 24 hours per day (as far as I know). If you work twelve hours a day, six days a week. 12 hours left, 8 hours of sleep, 4 hours to go. Two hours on the road, two hours left in a city like Bengaluru to brush, defecate, bathe, and eat. There's not enough time for family conversations, exercise, socialising, or leisure. Not to mention that employers demand that workers return calls and respond to emails after hours. Then ask yourself why heart attacks are occurring in young individuals.

He also attacked proponents of the "70-hour work week" in a mocking remark that said, "Don't marry. not a parent. Forget about work-life balance altogether. Work twelve hours a day for businesses so they may pay you peanuts and mint millions of dollars. Fantastic guidance.
