Relief of Rs 20,000 per acre to sorghum farmers: EPS Advice..!?

Edappadi Palaniswami has requested officials to be sent to the affected areas to survey the loss and provide relief. AIADMK General Secretary and leader of Opposition Edappadi Palaniswami has insisted that at least Rs 20,000 per acre should be given as compensation to the farmers who have incurred loss due to cultivation of corn. He also asked officials to be dispatched to the affected areas to conduct a survey of the losses and to provide quick relief to the affected farmers who planted maize.


In a statement issued by Edappadi Palaniswami, he said:

In the talukas of Cuddalore district, Vriddhachalam, Phetakkudi and Veypur, about 60,000 acres of corn were completely burnt and the farmers have suffered huge losses. In the absence of crop insurance, the farmers who took loans and planted corn are worried that their hard work has gone in vain when they cannot repay the loan.



Minister of Agriculture of vidya DMK Govt, I urge you to immediately send the officials of Agriculture Department and Revenue Department in person, survey the affected lands, plant corn and provide immediate relief to the affected farmers. I urge the chief minister of vidya DMK government to provide at least 20,000/- rupees per acre as relief to the affected farmers.
