There may be an expansion of the cabinet before the diwali festival on november 10 atRaj Bhavan in which four to five ministers can take oath. This will be the first cabinet expansion in thesecond term of yogi government. At present there are a total of 52 ministers in UP including cm Yogi, their number will increase further after the cabinet expansion. In such a situation, the question arises thathow many ministers can there be in a state or centre. In fact, only a limited number of ministers can bemade in both the Center and the State. This number is decided on the basis of the number of assembly seatsin the state.Formula for number of ministers in the stateAccording to constitutional rules, 15 percent of the total lok sabha members can be made ministers at theCentre. Similarly, there is a system in the states also. In the state also, 15 percent of the total assembly seatscan be included in the cabinet. There are currently 52 ministers including cm yogi in UP, there are a total of 403 assembly seats and onemember is nominated by the Governor. In this way the total number of MLAs becomes 404. Whose 15
percent comes to 60.6. This means that a total of 60-61 ministers can be made in UP, that is, 7-8 ministerscan still be increased in the state. If sources are to be believed, in the cabinet expansion to be held at RajBhavan on november 10, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj party President Om Prakash Rajbhar and two otherleaders including former minister Dara Singh Chauhan, who left SP and joined BJP, can be made ministers.Cabinet expansion is also being linked to the upcoming lok sabha elections.
