Madikeri mla Dr. Mantar Gowda inaugurated the new office of district AYUSH Department at Mahadeva town of madikeri city on Friday. 35 lakhs of Rs. The mla inaugurated the cost-constructed building. Municipal Council President Anita Poovaiah, Vice President Savita Rakesh, district AYUSH Officer Dr. Renuka Devi, mysore JSS ayurveda College professor Sreeshananda Sharma, Municipal Council Member Rajesh Yallappa and others were present. Later speaking at a program organized by the district Administration, Zilla panchayat and AYUSH Department on the occasion of the 8th National ayurveda Day, mla Dr. Mantar Gowda said that Ayurvedic medicine has its own importance and we should focus on strengthening it. There are many vacancies in the Ayush department and action will be taken to fill up Ayurvedic doctors. Also, efforts will be made to provide necessary basic facilities to Ayurvedic hospitals, he said.


District AYUSH Officer Dr. Renuka Devi said that ayurveda has been recognized as a traditional system of medicine by the World health Organization. Union Ministry of AYUSH has declared Dhanvantari Jayanti on october 26, 2016 as National ayurveda Day. 'Ayurveda in every home every day'. In connection with this, he informed that various Ayurvedic programs are being organized for farmers, school children and common people in all the hospitals and health centers of the district.
