While distributing a check of ₹5 lakh sanctioned by the Agriculture Department to the heirs of Kadappa Manika Patil, a farmer of Krishna-Kittura village who committed suicide due to debt in Ugara town, on Wednesday, he said, "If you have taken a loan, you should pay it by working." Otherwise, government assistance should be sought.
