Important responsibility assigned to women, will take command
The second phase of assembly elections was held in chhattisgarh on friday (17 November). In this, voting
will be held on 70 assembly seats from 8 am to 5 pm, but for the first time in independent India, it is going to
happen that only women are in charge of elections in the entire assembly. There are 201 polling stations in
Raipur North assembly seat and all are Sangwari booths. Here, from the presiding officer to the polling
officer, all are women. For this, 804 women have been entrusted with the responsibility and about 200 women
have been kept in reserve.
Actually, the observer of raipur North assembly is also a woman IAS officer Vimala R. His Liaisoning
Officer is also a woman. In most of the booths, the responsibility of security is also the responsibility of
women. Tomorrow, when the voters of North raipur assembly will enter the polling booth, the work of
checking the voter slip, getting signatures in the register, and applying ink on the fingers will be entirely the
responsibility of women. There will be equal number of women presiding officers in 201 booths and 603
polling officers.
Responsibility of polling station handed over to women
Let us tell you that gender equality is deeply rooted in the society of chhattisgarh and the sex ratio of the state
testifies to this. In raipur North assembly, where women officers have been put on duty at all the booths, the
sex ratio there is 1010. That means for every thousand men there are 1010 women. collector and District
Election Officer Dr. Sarveshwar narendra Bhure said about this initiative that as soon as the election process
started, we got the idea that why not hand over the entire responsibility of elections in an assembly of the
district to women. Everyone appreciated the idea, then we planned it. When the polling teams arrived to leave
for the polling stations on wednesday morning, it was heartening to see their enthusiasm.
