Maharashtra minister Chhagan Bhujbal on friday reiterated that while giving reservation to Marathas, theexisting reservation for Other backward classes (OBC) should not be cut. Bhujbal also questioned how records showing maratha families belonging to theOBC community Kunbi caste are suddenly emerging. Following Jarange's hunger strike, the Eknath Shinde-ledMaharashtra government decided to provide the benefit of OBC quota by granting Kunbi caste certificates tothose Marathas who proved their ancestors belonged to the Kunbi community during the Nizam rule inHyderabad.
