The haryana cabinet on monday approved the scheme to provide monthly assistance of Rs 3,000 to stage threeand four cancer patients to reduce the financial burden of cancer patients. An official statement issued after thestate cabinet meeting held here under the chairmanship of chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that thisdecision will benefit about 22,808 patients.It said that the monthly financial assistance of Rs 3,000 provided under the scheme will be in addition to thebenefits the eligible applicant is getting under any other social security pension scheme. The statement said thateligible patients will be given financial assistance at the same rate as old age honor allowance. It said that initiallythe patients will get a monthly assistance of Rs 2,750, while from january 2024 this amount will increase to Rs3,000. Earlier, during the inauguration of Atal cancer Care Center (ACCC) in Ambala Cantt, the Chief Ministerhad announced pension for third and fourth stage cancer patients.
Communication and connectivity infrastructure amendment policy also approvedApart from this, the haryana cabinet has approved the Communication and Connectivity InfrastructureAmendment Policy- 2023 to increase the availability of high-quality technology and communicationinfrastructure across the state. An official statement said that the revised policy has been brought in place of theCommunication and Connectivity Policy- 2017. It follows the revised ‘Indian Telegraph Right of Way’ rulesnotified by the Union Ministry of Communications (Department of Telecommunications) in 2022. The decisionencourages integration of cutting-edge technological advancements in the telecom sector, including innovativebusiness models such as ‘Fibre to the Home’ (FTTH) and ‘Open Access Network’ (OAN).
