Harsimrat Kaur cornered AAP government on NCRB report in Punjab
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) lok sabha mp Harsimrat Kaur Badal has cornered the punjab government over a
data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). Posting on his social media account X, he wrote that
NCRB has made a shocking revelation that 80 percent of the missing people in punjab are women, which is a
matter of great concern. Harsimrat Kaur Badal further wrote, “It is also shocking that the Aam Aadmi Party
punjab government is yet to respond to this report and investigate to find out the reasons behind it, including
human trafficking. A commission should be formed immediately."
‘927 girls went missing in punjab in one year’
Harsimrat Kaur Badal has shared a media report with her post. According to him, every day 3 girls and one boy
go missing from punjab every other day. In the last year, reports of missing persons of 1113 boys and girls
below 18 years of age have been registered. The surprising thing in this is that those who went missing include
927 girls and 127 boys. If we talk about the year 2021, 1045 people had gone missing, which included 881 girls
and 164 boys.
‘3607 people of the state missing’
According to the report, till now 3607 people are missing in the state, whose whereabouts have not been found
yet. In the year 2021, the figure of these missing people was 2494. The increase in the number of girls among
children who go missing is an indication of the increasing danger of human trekking. According to the NCRB
report, the increase in missing cases in punjab is surprising. Let us tell you that recently NCRB had also
presented the report of crime in punjab, in which it was told that there has been a decline in crimes against
women and children in punjab in 2022 as compared to 2021.
