Vyapam had become a noose around CM’s neck

In 2013, the Professional Examination Board (Vyapam) scam came to light in Madhya Pradesh. This was a scam

related to cheating in the examinations by paying money and making someone else sit in place of the candidate.

Actually, in 2009-10, a report was made in mp nagar and Kohefiza police station regarding cheating in Vyapam’s

medical examination, but then the investigation of the matter remained in cold storage.

Before the examination to be held in 2013, police raided hotels in indore and some suspects were caught. During

interrogation, the suspects revealed the rigging being done regarding copying. After this, a case was registered in

Rajendra nagar police station of indore and then layers kept getting revealed.

Thousands of people were arrested in the case. Till 2015, 32 people related to the case died. Many people died

under suspicious circumstances. STF and cbi also investigated this matter. congress had also accused Shivraj

Singh Chauhan of being involved in the scam but nothing was proved against him in the investigation.

However, Shivraj once admitted in the assembly that about one thousand fake recruitments took place. In 2018,

when bjp government was not formed in madhya pradesh, Vyapam was also considered to be one of the reasons

because of which the image of Shivraj and bjp was affected. The name of madhya pradesh Professional

Examination Board, which was facing infamy due to scam, was changed twice. First its name was changed to

Professional Examination Board (PEB) but then it was changed to madhya pradesh Staff Selection Board.
