Pulled out the teeth of interrogators: Bail for Balveer Singh!?

Balveer Singh has been granted bail in the Ambasamudra teeth-pulling case. Ambasamutram ASP Balveer Singh was accused of pulling out the teeth of the undertrials in criminal cases and torturing them during the police investigation at Ambasamutram, Wickramasinghapuram and Kallidaikurichi police stations in Ambasamutram police division of tirunelveli district. Cheranmahadevi Sir collector first investigated the case. Subsequently, accused Balveer Singh was dismissed. Constables Rajkumar, Bhogabooman, Chandrasekaran, Rajakumari, A. Perumal, N. Sakthi Natarajan, M. Chandanakumar and V. Manikandan who were working in the Ambasamudram police sub-district were transferred to the armed forces.


Amutha IAS, who is currently the home Secretary, has investigated the incident and submitted a report to the government. CBCID police are currently investigating the case. The CBCID police have registered a case against 15 people including Balveer Singh and are investigating. Today, the trial of this case was held in the Nellie district First criminal Justice Arbitration Court. 15 policemen including ASP Balveer Singh appeared in presence of Justice Thiruveni. They were asked to be granted bail by the police.


The trial court granted bail to 15 persons including accused IPS officer Balveer Singh and police Inspector Rajakumari. Earlier, the CBCID police had filed a chargesheet against 15 accused including IPS officer Balveer Singh and police Inspector Rajakumari last week.
