S. jaishankar on attack plot allegations: US, canada issues..?

External Affairs minister S jaishankar stated on sunday that the two crises were not the same, referring to the recent claims of conspiracies to kill pro-Khalistan elements in the US and Canada. "Told us some specific things," he added of the Americans. Differentiating between the claims, he stated that india is always willing to look into particular concerns brought up by other nations.

"Any country, not just canada, that brings up a concern and gives us facts or backing for it has our full attention. "Nations behave in this way," he said.

While certain concerns were voiced by Americans, the idea was that the two problems weren't necessarily the same. The Americans informed us some things when they raised the topic. These kinds of issues can occasionally come up in international affairs. Therefore, we have really told the Canadians that, in essence, it's up to them—that is, their decision—whether or not they want us to investigate it further," he stated at a Bengaluru event.

India has been requested by the united states to cooperate in an investigation into an alleged failed attempt to assassinate Khalistan rebel Gurpatwant Sing Pannun. Nikhil Gupta is the target of an indictment brought by the US Department of Justice (DOJ) alleging that an indian government employee asked him to hire hitmen to kill the separatist who supported Khalistan. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) responded by expressing concern that one of its personnel might be associated with the purported conspiracy, from which it distanced itself, as being against government policy.
