33 opposition members from Lok Sabha suspended for disrupting proceedings of the House!?

Accordingly a total of 33 opposition members from the lok sabha were suspended on monday for disrupting the proceedings of the House. The members who were suspended for the remainder of the Winter Session included congress leader in the house Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, DMK MPs T R Baalu and Dayanidhi Maran, and TMC’s Saugata Roy. Among them, 30 of them were suspended for the remainder of the Winter Session, whereas three were suspended pending the report of the Privileges Committee.

Meanwhile the three members K Jayakumar, vijay vasanth and Abdul Khaleque had climbed on the Speaker’s podium to raise slogans. Thereby after being named by the Chair, Pralhad Joshi, Parliamentary Affairs minister moved a motion regarding the suspension and it was adopted by a voice vote.

Earlier, on december 15, as many as 13 MPs from various Opposition parties were suspended for disrupting house proceedings. Among the ones suspended, nine were congress MPs, one from Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), two from the party OF INDIA' target='_blank' title='communist party of india-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">communist party of india (Marxist) or CPM, one from the party OF INDIA' target='_blank' title='communist party of india-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">communist party of india (CPI) and one from trinamool congress (TMC). The suspension of DMK mp SR parthiban was withdrawn later after his party complained that he was not present in the house today.
