Nationwide Gold Bond Distribution Begins: Benefits..!?

Distribution of gold notes has started at post offices across the country. If you are thinking of investing in gold then this is the news for you. Accordingly, distribution of gold notes has started today at all post offices across the country.


Gold Bond Scheme (SGB) 2023-24 Series-3 will be open for investment from 18th december (today) to 22nd December. Public can invest in gold bonds these days. According to the RBI report, the price of 999 purity gold bonds has been fixed at Rs 6,199 per gram. It seems that Reserve bank is planning to issue the next series of gold bonds from february 12 to 16.


What are the investment limits for gold bonds?



Anyone can invest in gold bonds. These bonds are denominated in multiples of grams of gold and the minimum permissible investment is 1 gram of gold. Individuals can invest up to a maximum of 4 kg gold. Meanwhile trusts and similar entities can invest up to 20 kg in gold bonds every financial year.


What is the maturity period for a gold bond?



Investment tenure of gold Bonds Savings Scheme (SGB) is 8 years. There is also a facility of withdrawal in fifth years. 2.5% interest per annum can be availed every 6 months (June and December). The maturity amount can be redeemed against 24 carat gold at the current gold value.


Where to buy gold bonds?



Gold bonds can be bought through banks, Stock Holding Corporation of india Limited (SHCIL), Post Offices, National Stock Exchange (NSE), mumbai Stock Exchange (BSE) and other authorized stock exchanges.

The government, in collaboration with the Reserve bank, has decided to offer a discount of Rs 50 to investors who apply online and make payments through wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">digital modes. Accordingly, for such investors, the issue price of the gold bond will be Rs.6,149 per gram.
