Sterlite Copper distributed 25,000 meals per day, with plans to provide up to 1,00,000 meals to rescue Flood victims

In response to the recent catastrophic floods wreaking havoc in parts of tamil Nadu, Sterlite copper has deployed boats to rescue individuals stranded in areas inundated by floodwater and is distributing 25,000 meals per day through a live kitchen, with plans to provide up to 1,00,000 meals. “Sterlite copper has once again demonstrated its commitment to community welfare by initiating vital relief efforts to support the affected communities in Tuticorin. The unprecedented floods, causing widespread destruction and displacement, prompted Sterlite copper to swiftly mobilize its resources. The company’s philanthropic arm is actively engaged in providing immediate aid and assistance to alleviate the hardships data-faced by those affected and contribute to the rebuilding of the communities,” the leading copper producer said in a press statement.

Upholding the company’s commitment to community welfare, these rescue operations, executed with the help of trained experts, prioritize the safety and well-being of the local population, it said. The company has also assembled first-stage relief kits and is distributing them to 10,000 individuals. These kits include essential items such as bread, milk powder, biscuits, water, candles and medical kit ensuring nutrition, comfort and medical care.
