Nationalist congress mla who made controversial comments about Lord Rama 3 more cases have been registered. Nationalist congress mla from Sharad Pawar's party said that Lord ram is a non-vegetarian. Jitendra Awad's statement has sparked controversy. Speaking at a program held in Shirdi, Maharashtra, he said that Rama was not a vegetarian. He questioned how he could have lived in the forest for 14 years if he was a vegetarian. “Ramar is not a vegetarian but a non-vegetarian. Where would a person who has been living in the jungle for 14 years look for vegetarian food.” He also said. Jitendra Awad's comments are drawing criticism across the country. Complaints have been filed in various police stations against former minister and mla Jitendra Awath for hurting the sentiments of Hindus and ram devotees.


While the pune police have registered a case against Jitendra Awath, 3 more cases have been registered against him. Accordingly, two cases have been registered in mumbai and one in thane district. A case has been registered against Jitendra Awad at Mumbai's MITC police station based on a complaint filed by vishwa Hindu Parishad executive gautam Rauria. A case has been registered under indian Penal Code Section 295 (A) (intentional and malicious acts intended to hurt the religious sentiments of any class of persons by insulting their religion or religious beliefs), a police official said.


An FIR has also been registered at Ghatkopar police station on similar charges based on a complaint lodged by local BJP mla ram Kadam. An FIR was also registered at Navgarh police station under the same section on the complaint of a local businessman.
