ED interrogated former CM Bhupendra, what is the whole matter?
Former haryana Chief minister and senior congress leader bhupinder singh Hooda was on wednesday questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with its money laundering probe into alleged irregularities in land acquisition in Manesar during 2004-07. . Official sources gave this information. He said that the agency recorded the statement of Hooda (76) under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
This ED investigation pertains to the illegal acquisition of land in Manesar, haryana between 2004 and 2007 with the alleged connivance of senior government officials and bureaucrats. In this case of land acquisition, many farmers and land owners had alleged that they were cheated of about Rs 1,500 crore. The agency had registered a case under PMLA in the alleged land scam in september 2016 based on an FIR by haryana Police.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is also investigating this matter. In this case, cbi had registered an FIR against 34 accused including Bhupendra Singh Hooda. Bhupendra Singh Hooda has appeared in the special court in the year 2019 also. In august 2014, private builders in connivance with some people of the haryana government had bought about 400 acres of land from the farmers of Manser, Naurangpur and Nakhdaula villages of Gurugram at a cheap price by threatening them with land acquisition.
It is alleged that during the tenure of Hooda government, about 900 acres of land was acquired and sold to builders at throwaway prices. Land worth Rs 108.79 crore has been attached in this case. Now ED has interrogated Bhupendra Singh Hooda in this case.
