Will Akali-BJP form alliance again for the Lok Sabha Elections?

Currently barely two and a half months are left for the lok sabha elections. At the national level, the turmoil regarding mutual coordination between political parties is at its peak. punjab is also not untouched by manipulative politics. There, news of rift in Shiromani Akali Dal and Bahujan Samaj party alliance is in the headlines. This discussion has gained strength because of the indications about BSP joining the india alliance. In fact, after the sourness in relations between Akali Dal and bjp over the issue of three agricultural laws, the alliance broke during the last punjab assembly elections. SSD contested the elections in alliance with BSP, while bjp contested the elections in alliance with Amarinder Singh's party. Akali Dal, BSP and bjp suffered the most due to political turmoil in the assembly elections.


Meanwhile in the punjab assembly elections, out of total 117 seats, Akali Dal won three, bjp won two and BSP won only one seat. bjp used to contest elections on 23 seats in alliance with Akali Dal. In the elections held from 1997 to 2022, the party had got so few seats, that is, only in 2002. In the remaining elections, bjp has been winning about a dozen or more seats. Learning from this, Akali Dal has again hinted at an alliance with BJP. However, no one has said anything officially about it yet. At the same time, BSP has indicated to join hands with india Alliance. According to a report in Dainik Jagra, the equations being created in Uttar Pradesh regarding india for the lok sabha elections are sure to have an impact on the politics of Punjab. After the ongoing behind the scenes political talks between congress and BSP, there are signs of cracking of the two-year old alliance between Shiromani Akali Dal and BSP in Punjab.
