A fence will be erected on the India-Myanmar data-border..!?
The central government is going to terminate the agreement with Myanmar. India's main neighbor is Myanmar. The data-border between the two countries stretches over 1,500 km. Historically, ethnically and culturally, the relationship has been maintained for years. As the two countries maintain close relations, indians living on the India-Myanmar data-border are allowed to travel up to 16 km within the Myanmar data-border without a visa. Similarly, Myanmar nationals living on the Indo-Myanmar data-border are allowed visa-free travel up to 16 km within the indian data-border.

This special permission is given as part of an agreement between the two countries. But recently there were reports that this deal is going to end soon. Union home minister amit shah has confirmed this. Accepting the parade of the newly formed assam Police Commando Battalions, he said, "The government is going to terminate the agreement with Myanmar. We will protect the indian data-border near Myanmar like the indian data-border near Bangladesh. The central government has reconsidered the agreement with Myanmar."
Following the termination of the Free Movement Agreement, the entire India-Myanmar data-border is said to be fenced. The perimeter wall will be constructed in the next four and a half years. All those coming through must have a visa. Speaking about this in 2023, Manipur chief minister Bran Singh said, "I urge the central government to stop the free movement agreement on the Indo-Myanmar data-border to prevent illegal immigration. The government is trying to implement the National Citizen Register and erect a fence on the Myanmar data-border."
Myanmar shares a 390 km data-border with Manipur. But only 10 km distance has been fenced.
