Why this people hoisted saffron flag on the 'church'? What did the police say?
Earlier on sunday, a day before the scheduled Ramlala pran Pratishtha ceremony of ram mandir in Ayodhya, a group of youth in Jhabua district of madhya pradesh installed Christian crosses. Saffron flag hoisted on top of a 'church'. After this, when people again climbed the building to put the flag on the Christian symbol, the crowd raised slogans of jai Shri Ram. This incident took place in Dabatlai village of Ranapur police station area of the district.
Meanwhile according to the news published in The New indian Express, a group of youth carrying a saffron flag climbed the house of Darbu Amaliar. It is noteworthy that Darbu is a tribal group, which follows Christianity. Jhabua district of western madhya pradesh is dominated by Bhil tribe and shares its with Gujarat. A video of the incident also went viral. On receiving information about the incident, the local police reached the spot, but Darbu Amaliar refused to register any complaint in this matter. A part of Darbu Amaliar's residence is used for sunday morning prayers on behalf of the tribals who practice Christianity. However, it does not function as a formal 'church'.
Darbu Amaliar said that those who had climbed on the roof of the house and hoisted the saffron flag. He was not a stranger, but was his acquaintance. Jhabua district superintendent of police Agam Jain said "We asked him to take action in the matter, but he (Darbu) refused saying he had nothing to complain as there was a ban on hoisting the flag on top of the house. The people knew him. That's why he didn't want to make any complaint."
