Many leaders of Bihar have made records in backfiring
Jitan ram Manjhi- Former chief minister of bihar Jitan ram Manjhi has taken U-turn 7 times in the last 9 years. After breaking ties with JDU in 2015, Manjhi formed his own party and joined NDA. Manjhi contested elections on 21 seats, but could save only his own seat. In 2017, Manjhi separated from the nda and joined the UPA. In the 2019 lok sabha elections, Manjhi got 3 out of 40 seats, but could not win even a single one. After this, with the support of Nitish, Manjhi again joined NDA. In 2020, we (from) entered the electoral fray together with NDA. Manjhi's party got 7 seats, out of which it won 4. When nitish kumar separated from nda in 2022, Manjhi also left with him.
Manjhi joined the grand alliance and also vowed never to go with Nitish. However, he broke it within 1 year. Taking a political decision in 2023, he separated his own party from the nitish kumar cabinet and Manjhi again joined BJP. Jitan ram Manjhi is currently a member of bihar Assembly. Three members of Manjhi's family are in active politics.
Nagmani- Nagmani Kushwaha, son of strong socialist leader Jagdev Prasad, has also made a record in taking U-turn. In the last 23 years, Nagamani has flipped 11 times. Due to Paltimar politics, Nagmani also became a minister at the Centre.
In 1977, Nagmani became mla from Kurtha assembly on the symbol of Shoshit Samaj Dal. In 1980 also he tried his luck from the same seat, but lost the election. In 1985, Nagmani managed to win as an independent candidate from Kurtha. He joined congress in 1990, but failed to save the Kurtha seat. In 1991, he contested the lok sabha elections from Chatra seat on the congress symbol, but could not win this time too.
After this Nagamani joined Rashtriya Janata Dal. In 1999, Nagmani won the elections from Chatra on the RJD symbol and reached the lok sabha, but within 2 years he became disillusioned. He rebelled against RJD along with 3 MPs. In 2001, Nagamani formed RJD (Democratic). However, within a few months, Nagamani joined the Atal government by merging the party with BJP. In 2004, when bjp lost at the Centre, Nagamani joined LJP. He again joined JDU in 2005. nitish kumar also made Nagamani's wife Suchitra a cabinet minister, but in 2008 Nagamani again joined RJD. Nagamani could not come to power after this, but he changed the party 4 times. Presently Nagamani is the President of his own party Rashtriya Shoshit Samaj.
