Jharkhand chief minister hemant Soran's wife Kalpana Soran is said to be likely to take over as the next chief minister of Jharkhand.

hemant Soran's wife Kalpana Soran (48) was born in ranchi but brought up in Odisha. Born in ranchi in 1976, Kalpana Soran belongs to a business family in Mayurbunj district, Odisha. So, he grew up in Odisha. His family members are still living in Mayurpanj.
Kalpana Soran completed her engineering degree and holds an MBA. Kalpana has a keen interest in projects for women and children and runs her own school as well as organic farming. She married hemant Soran on 7th february 2006. Kalpana and hemant Soran have two children Nikhil and Ansh.
Kalpana Soran, who stayed away from active politics till last year, has been participating in various programs with him after the Enforcement Directorate came under investigation. Many believe that having married into a political family, Kalpana Soren would naturally be able to handle the current situation in the state if given the chance to lead.
In 1997, the then bihar chief minister Lalu prasad Yadav was forced to resign after being accused of fodder corruption. Lalu Yadav, who resigned at that time, made his wife Rabri Devi the Chief Minister. However, the government remained under Lalu's control. It is said that hemant Soran is also trying to make his wife Kalpana the chief minister in that style.
