Dinesh Kashyap defeated Kawasi Lakhma by a margin of 88 thousand votes and became the mp of Bastar.

In this election also, BJP's Dinesh Kashyap defeated congress candidate deepak Karma by a margin of 1 lakh votes. However, in the 2019 lok sabha elections, there was a coup in Bastar lok sabha seat and in 2019, bjp gave ticket to Baiduram Kashyap, while congress fielded deepak Baij, mla of Chitrakot Assembly, in the lok sabha elections. deepak Baij of congress defeated Baiduram Kashyap of bjp by a margin of 38 thousand 982 votes in the 2019 lok sabha elections and became the mp of Bastar Lok Sabha.
