Qatar has released eight former indian Navy personnel who were previously jailed, with seven of them having returned to India. Captain (retd) Navtej Gill, Saurabh Vashistha, commander (retd) Purnendu Tiwari, amit Nagpal, SK Gupta, BK Verma, Sugunakar Pakala, and Sailor (retd) Ragesh were sentenced in an alleged espionage case. While most have returned, Tiwari is still in Doha but is expected to return to india soon. The indian government and qatar have not officially commented on the allegations.
