Harsha Kumar, who previously contested on the congress ticket, emerged victorious in both the 2004 and 2009 elections with substantial vote margins exceeding 40,000.
Despite the state's bifurcation, Harsha Kumar continued his political pursuits, contesting in 2014 under the banner of the "Jai Samaikhyandra Party" led by kiran kumar Reddy after parting ways with the Congress. However, this attempt proved less successful as he garnered only 9,931 votes.
