Digvijay Singh will contest Lok Sabha elections
Former chief minister of madhya pradesh and senior congress leader Digvijay Singh will again contest the lok sabha elections. Sources said that rajya sabha mp Digvijay Singh can contest elections from Rajgarh seat. At the same time, congress can field senior leader Arun Yadav from Guna seat against Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. Sources said that both the names have been approved in the meeting of the Central election Committee (CEC) of the Congress. Sources said that congress can also make former Union minister Kantilal Bhuria a candidate.
When there was a big split in madhya pradesh congress in the year 2020, the reason for it was the tension between Digvijay Singh and Scindia over the rajya sabha ticket. Scindia separated from congress and Kamal Nath's government fell after two years. bjp has given ticket to Rodmal nagar from Rajgarh seat. BJP's Rodmal nagar is currently the mp from Rajgarh seat. He has been elected mp here for two consecutive terms. Had won in 2014 and 2019.
Digvijay Singh had lost in the last election
The last lok sabha elections were disappointing for both Scindia and Digvijay. Digvijay was defeated by Pragya Singh Thakur on bhopal seat. At the same time, Scindia, as a congress candidate, was surprised by BJP's KP Yadav in Guna seat by giving him a crushing defeat in his stronghold. This time KP Yadav's ticket has been cut. bjp has made Scindia its candidate from Guna seat.
There are 29 lok sabha seats in madhya pradesh and Guna is considered a high profile seat among them. Arun Yadav, to whom congress has almost decided to give ticket, is the former president of madhya pradesh Congress. Yadav is known as a veteran OBC leader. In the last lok sabha elections, congress had to be satisfied with only one Chhindwara seat in Madhya Pradesh. Kamal Nath's son nakul Nath had won.
