Independent candidate from Baramati got the 'Tutari' symbol...The nationalist congress party (Sharad Pawar faction) has filed a complaint with the election commission of india (ECI) over the trumpet-like instrument symbol allotted to an independent candidate contesting from its stronghold Baramati in Maharashtra's pune district. ncp (Sharad faction) has claimed that the election commission has allotted a trumpet-like symbol to independent candidate Sheikh Soyalshah Yunusshah and identified it as Tuatari. ECI has allotted a person playing Turha (a traditional trumpet) as the election symbol for ncp (SP).The complaint filed by Laxmikant Khabia, election representative of party candidate supriya Sule, said that there is a similarity between the two names, which may cause confusion among voters. Khabia had submitted the complaint to the Returning Officer on april 20. The election symbol given to the independent candidate is a trumpet. It cannot be called 'Tutari' in Marathi. He said in the complaint, we have requested the election commission to call the symbol 'Trumpet' instead of 'Tutari'.The trumpet present in the election symbol of ncp (SP) is also called Tutari in Marathi. It is considered a symbol of the entry of important persons, from the kings of yesteryear to the political leaders of today. Baramati, where voting will take place in the third phase of the lok sabha elections on May 7, is the home turf of the Pawar family, and Sharad Pawar's daughter Sule is seeking a fourth straight term from the constituency.Sule is pitted against his sister-in-law and deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar's wife Sunetra, who is the ncp candidate from the ruling Mahayuti alliance, which also includes shiv sena and BJP. Meanwhile, Sule said that a month ago his team had raised the issue with the election commission regarding the election symbol and had asked them not to create confusion.
