TDP's petition: Legitimate concern?
As the general elections approach in andhra pradesh, the use of the Gaju Glass symbol by the alliance has sparked significant controversy. The Central election Commission's decision to include the glass symbol as a common symbol has raised concerns, particularly for the janasena party.
Janasena has taken the matter to the high court, and it appears that even the tdp has filed an urgent petition in the ap high court regarding this issue. During the hearing, the election Commissioner made several noteworthy comments regarding the glass symbol. The election commission informed the court that the glass symbol cannot be exclusively reserved for the janasena party across Andhra Pradesh.
Additionally, they stated that the symbols allocated to other parties cannot be changed as the election process is already underway. The court is hearing various arguments on these petitions as they continue to be brought forward. It was revealed during the proceedings that electronic ballots have already been provided to the armed forces. The election commission clarified to the court that there is no legal provision to recognize the Free Poll Alliance.
Addressing objections raised by the janasena party, the court made certain decisions yesterday. The tdp, in its petition, highlighted the pre-poll alliance with the tdp and BJP, and their campaigning efforts underscored this alliance. The election commission confirmed that the glass symbol will remain unchanged in 5 mp and 62 assembly constituencies. However, they also emphadata-sized the need to prevent confusion among voters, suggesting that different symbols be allocated to independent candidates. Consequently, the trial was adjourned to the following day by the ap High Court.
