15 people were trapped in the copper mine located in Khetri of Jhunjhunu district after the lift chain broke.A major accident occurred due to the breakage of the lift chain in the copper mine located in Khetri in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan. 15 officers were trapped in it, out of which one officer died while 14 officers have been taken out. Chief Vigilance Officer upendra Pandey has died, he was a member of the kolkata Eye Vigilance team. Three of the rescued officers are injured, who have been admitted to a private hospital in Jaipur.
According to news agency ANI, 15 officers trapped in the mine have been taken out during the rescue operation that continued since wednesday morning. SDRF jawan dharmendra says that one body has been taken out and a total of 14 people have been rescued safely. Whereas neem police station collector Sharad Mehra has said that 15 people have been taken out. Medical examination of all the evacuated people is being done.
Inspection work is going on in Khetri copper mine for two days. Since May 13, the vigilance team from kolkata was inspecting the Hindustan copper Mine. 14 people including team members had gone inside the mine on Tuesday. He was returning from the lift after inspection, when at 8.10 pm the chain of the lift suddenly broke. Due to the accident, everyone got trapped inside the mine.
