Pakistan adopts a double policy on religious matters…

Last Saturday, an incident took place in pakistan on which the whole world including india needs to pay attention. On May 25, a mob armed with sticks, rods and sharp weapons attacked the house of a Christian family in Mujahid Colony of Lahore. When they could not break the door, they set the house on fire. When the news of this attack reached the Lahore police, they immediately reached there and rescued the victims from the burning house. One person was badly injured, he was admitted to the hospital, where he is hanging between life and death.

According to the Pakistani newspaper The Dawn, Lahore police arrested 26 attackers in this case and filed a complaint against about 400 people for being involved in the attack. The person who was tried to be burnt was accused of insulting the holy book of Muslims, the Quran. Some pages of the Quran were found lying burnt near an electric pole in the locality of the accused. Some members of the Islamic organization Tehreek-e-Labbaik pakistan living in the locality alleged that the accused had burnt these pages and thrown them away. The people of this group gathered a mob and attacked the house of the Christian man accusing him without any concrete witness or proof.

In Pakistani law, this is called blasphemy (insulting a person or thing related to the Muslim religion). Blasphemy is a legal crime in pakistan, that is, the Pakistani regime also believes in this concept. In this case too, the police have registered a case against the main leader of the attacking mob and also registered a case against the person from the minority community admitted in the hospital under the charges of blasphemy. This incident in pakistan is not only a matter of concern for their country but for the whole world, especially for india, this is a very important issue. Blasphemy is directly related to religion and religious incidents, no matter which country they happen in, have an impact on the rest of the world as well. This is not a new phenomenon. Earlier also, such incidents used to affect other countries. But, the internet has now connected the whole world in real time. In such a situation, no country gets time to deal with the situation arising out of such incidents like before.
