Aadhaar-Ration Card Linking Date: The central government has once again extended the deadline to link Aadhaar number with ration card. This has given great relief to ration card holders. Earlier, june 30 was the deadline to link Aadhaar number and ration card, but now it has been given an extension of 3 months. Now the date for linking Aadhaar card for food subsidy or ration from PDS in the account has been extended to september 30, 2024. The Food and Public Distribution Department has also issued a notification regarding this extended deadline.

The process of linking ration card with Aadhaar has been going on for 7 years

The central government started the process of linking Aadhaar number with ration card in february 2017. It was made mandatory to avail food subsidy on ration card. Despite this, till now all ration card holders have not linked it with their Aadhaar number. Deadline has been declared for this many times, but every time it has been extended due to some reason or the other.

99 percent cards have been linked

After making it mandatory to link Aadhaar number with ration card, most of the people have completed this work. Last year, the Modi government had told in the reply given in the lok sabha that 99.8 percent ration cards have been linked with Aadhaar number till now. In such a situation, only a small number is left, which the Modi government wants to complete as soon as possible.

This is how you can link ration card to Aadhaar

Click on the official website of Public Distribution System (PDS) of your state.

Click on the link to link ration card to Aadhaar number and fill in the required information.

You have to enter your Aadhaar card number and registered mobile number and press the submit button.

When you receive the OTP number from Aadhaar card authority UIDAI, you have to enter it.

When the OTP is successfully entered, your ration card and Aadhaar will be linked.

Documents required to link Aadhaar and ration card

If you want to link your Aadhaar card and ration card, then the following documents will be required.

Photocopy of your original ration card.

Photocopy of Aadhaar card of any member of your family.

Updated photocopy of Aadhaar card of the head of the family.

Photocopy of bank passbook.

Two passport data-size photographs of the head of the family.
