No Anna Canteens in Vishakapatnam? But Why?
Tomorrow marks the launch of 100 Anna Canteens by the andhra pradesh government as a special Independence Day offering. Tomorrow, chief minister Chandrababu Naidu will open Gudivada's first Anna Canteen. The contractor Harekrishna Movement is not prepared to furnish food for those canteens, even though an additional 80 Anna Canteens are ready, and they are requesting extra time.
These eighty canteens could open on september 5th or by the end of this month. In the meanwhile, the list of 100 Anna Canteens was made public by the government. It's interesting to note that the absence of canteens in the vishakapatnam area has generated discussion. The MLC elections caused the first phase, which was supposed to establish 100 canteens in 49 urban local bodies across 17 districts, to be delayed in the former Visakhapatnam district.
Vishakapatnam residents could have to wait an additional month. vijayawada city is home to the greatest number of Anna Canteens—eleven are being built there. In the first phase, there will be seven in guntur and Nellore, five in Kakinada, four in Eluru, and three in Rajamahendravaram. We don't have the exact date and we just hope it would be revealed to the public officially in a month or two.
