Hema committee report: Kerala govt forms special team
With the hema Commission report showing that there have been enough crimes including POCSO cases, there is a question that the government can take action without complaint. There was a view that action should be taken based on the statement of the victimized women without a complaint as per the law.
Speaking to reporters, kerala Health minister Veena George said, "The government will not protect anyone who has done wrong. There is no need for the government to protect anyone who protects the wrongdoers. Police and legal advisors are being consulted to examine the necessary matters in this regard and whether action can be taken without filing a complaint by the women concerned.
It will also examine whether the aggrieved women need help to file a complaint boldly. The Pinarayi Vijayan-led government has set up this committee as an example. So, the government will take necessary action. The government stood by the aggrieved women. The court is also investigating the matter. Matters related to this will be examined."
