Coimbatore Police raid Weapons from students

Problems like fighting and drug abuse among students in coimbatore district colleges are on the rise. There were complaints that these activities were increasing in the suburbs as well.

Following this, five special teams comprising about 250 police personnel raided private hostels in Chettipalayam, Kovilpalayam, and Sulur police station areas. Eight persons have been arrested.  Three of them were convicted in murder and robbery cases. Another 36 people are being questioned.
Drugs
During the searches, 42 two-wheelers, dangerous weapons, and 3 kg of ganja were seized. coimbatore Superintendent of police Karthikeyan said that strict action will be taken against those who use drugs, befriend people with criminal to real backgrounds, use deadly weapons, and indulge in rowdyism.

There is a higher likelihood among students who report having used prescription medicines without a prescription from a doctor of either physical or sexual dating violence. Drug use is linked to risky sexual conduct, violent experiences, mental health issues, and suicide risk. police are conducting surprise visits in colleges as well.
