The first round of talks between the agitating junior doctors and the West bengal government regarding the rape and murder of a junior doctor in kolkata is going on at the residence of chief minister mamata banerjee in Kalighat on monday (September 16). After 4 attempts to start talks to resolve the matter failed, a delegation of junior doctors reached cm Banerjee's residence for an important meeting.

Earlier, the junior doctors'demand for 'live streaming' and 'video recording' of the meeting was rejected by the state government.After which the previous attempts of talks were in vain. However, later the protesting doctors softened their demand a bit and now agreed to only record the details of the meeting and give a signed copy of it. The West bengal government has immediately accepted this condition.

At the same time, Chief Secretary Manoj pant said that both sides will sign the details of the meeting. Also, its copies will be given to each other for clarity. Meanwhile, the doctors continued their protest outside the health Department headquarters 'Swasthya Bhavan' for the eighth day. They are demanding justice in the case of rape and murder of a trainee doctor in RG Kar Hospital. Along with this, they are demanding the removal of Kolkata Police Commissioner and senior health officials of the state.

Meanwhile, before leaving for the meeting from their protest site outside the health Department headquarters 'Swasthya Bhavan', the protesting doctors said that two professional stenographers are going with them to record the details of the meeting. They said that theywill not agree to anything less than their five demands, which they have already placed before the government.
