Before the maharashtra assembly elections, the ncp Sharad faction has made a big demand from the election commission for the ajit pawar faction. ncp (SP) leader Supriya Sule requested the supreme court to treat both the factions of the congress PARTY' target='_blank' title='nationalist congress party-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">nationalist congress party equally and give a new election symbol to the Ajit Pawar-led rival faction like her party.

Baramati mp Supriya Sule, lok sabha member Sule told reporters that the ncp (Sharadchandra Pawar) has sought natural justice from the supreme Court. The ncp (Sharadchandra Pawar) has taken this step just before the assembly elections to be held in Maharashtra. In fact, ajit pawar joined the Shiv Sena-BJP government along with several other MLAs in July 2023, due to which his uncle Sharad Pawar's ncp was split into two factions. The election symbol of ncp founded by sharad pawar before the split was 'clock'. The election commission allotted the name of ncp and the symbol 'clock' to the group led by ajit pawar in february this year.

The court had given this order

On march 19, the supreme court allowed the Sharad Pawar-led faction to use 'Nationalist congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar' as its name and the election symbol 'man playing trumpet' before the lok sabha elections. The supreme court gave this order on the petition of the Sharad Pawar-led faction directing the ajit pawar faction to stop the use of the election symbol clock allotted by the election Commission.

Hearing will be on september 25

At the same time, the Sharad Pawar-led party approached the supreme court on friday and requested to give new election symbols to both the factions of NCP. The apex court has fixed september 25 as the date for hearing on the petition.

'Confusion over clock election symbol'

lok sabha member Sule told reporters here on saturday (September 21), "Sharad Pawar is the founding member of our party and he takes all the decisions. ncp (Sharadchandra Pawar) has requested the supreme court to give natural justice." Sule further said, "The court has asked us to use the 'man blowing a trumpet' election symbol till the final decision. The same decision should be taken for the other faction of ncp as well. There is a big confusion over the 'clock' election symbol. Therefore, we request the court to take a decision before the upcoming assembly elections."
