Unlike a total solar eclipse where the sun is completely obscured by the moon, a partial solar eclipse occurs when only a portion of the sun is covered.Perhaps the second and last solar eclipse of 2024 will occur on the occasion of Pitru Visarjan Amavasya on october 2. In an interview with astrologer Rishikant Mishra Shastri from Unnao, Uttar Pradesh said, “This will be a very long eclipse, with a period of around 6 hours." As per him, the eclipse will start at 9:13 PM and will continue till 3:17 AM the next day. An annular solar eclipse will be visible in parts of South America, and a partial solar eclipse will be visible in parts of South America, Antarctica, North America, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Pacific Ocean, including Hawaii.Moreover just like the april 8 total solar eclipse, which was visible only in North America, the indian residents will not be able to witness the october 2 solar eclipse as well. Any religious and auspicious deeds including tarpan and pind daan, performed by the person on this day will bring auspicious results. However, astrologer Shastri mentioned people, especially pregnant women, to be careful during this period.
