Sharad Pawar will make a dent in BJP before elections!
Amid speculation of switching sides ahead of assembly elections in Maharashtra, bharatiya janata party (BJP) leader Harshvardhan Patil met congress PARTY' target='_blank' title='nationalist congress party-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">nationalist congress party (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief sharad pawar in mumbai on thursday (3 October). Patil told PTI-Bhasha that he met Pawar at his 'Silver Oak' residence in south Mumbai. Patil said, "Pawar urged me to join his party and contest the assembly elections. He said he would make me win the elections."
State minister and bjp leader chandrakant patil told reporters that former minister of state Harshvardhan Patil would regret his decision to join the ncp (SP). He said that those who feel that they will not be fielded again (by the BJP) in the assembly elections are leaving the party.
'Top leaders will decide'
chandrakant patil said, "When we win the election and he (Harshvardhan) comes to us to rejoin the party, our top leaders will decide whether to take him back or not." There is speculation about former mla Harshvardhan Patil from Indapur assembly seat in Baramati region switching sides, especially after ncp leader and deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar said that only those who won the seat last time will get a chance to retain it.
Has been a state minister in Shiv Sena-BJP coalition government
Harshvardhan Patil, a four-time mla from Indapur seat, wishes to contest from Indapur again. This seat is represented by BJP's alliance partner ncp, which may field sitting mla Dattatreya Bharne again this time. Harshvardhan Patil was the state minister of agriculture and marketing in the Shiv Sena-BJP coalition government during 1995-99. He won the 1995 assembly election as an independent candidate. He was a minister during the congress-ncp coalition government from 1999 to 2014. He joined the congress in 2009 and was made the minister of Cooperation and Parliamentary Affairs.
