Earlier, congress General Secretary priyanka gandhi Vadra said on monday that it is 'unfortunate' that the administration is 'inactive' amid the violence in bahraich, Uttar Pradesh and she appealed to chief minister Yogi Adityanath to take strict action against the culprits. A youth died in the violence that broke out during the Durga idol procession in Maharajganj area of Mansoor village in Bahraich. The dispute started over playing music on loudspeakers. About half a dozen people were injured in stone pelting and firing and 30 people have been detained. On monday, the crowd came out on the road and set some shops on fire, which further increased the tension. Some people in the crowd were carrying sticks and iron rods.

She said, "I appeal to the chief minister of the state and the state administration to take immediate action, take the public into confidence and stop the violence. The congress general secretary said, "It is my humble appeal to the public that please do not take the law into your own hands and maintain peace." chief minister Adityanath condemned the violence and said that the culprits will not be spared.
