Currently amidst the campaign for the maharashtra Assembly elections, the controversy of the election symbol 'clock' of the nationalist congress party (NCP) has come to the fore again. On Wednesday, the supreme court had ordered deputy cm ajit pawar to publish a disclaimer of the election symbol clock in newspapers within 36 hours. After the court's order, Ajit Pawar's party ncp has published an advertisement of the election symbol in a Marathi newspaper. It has been mentioned that the matter is pending in the court and permission of the supreme court has been obtained to use the election symbol of clock in the elections.
Meanwhile the supreme court had also directed ajit pawar to submit an affidavit after publishing the advertisement in the newspaper. At present, ajit pawar faction has got a big relief in the controversy of the election symbol clock. Let us tell you that when the matter of election symbol 'clock' reached the supreme court, ajit pawar and sharad pawar were advised by the judge not to waste their time in the court, but to woo voters by going for election campaign. Also, Ajit's group was asked to publish a disclaimer in a Marathi newspaper that the matter of the clock election symbol is still in the court.
Moreover after the court's order, Ajit Pawar's group's lawyer Balbir Singh had assured that the disclaimer would be published in Marathi language newspapers within 36 hours, so that comprehensive information could be conveyed to the voters. He claimed that the sharad pawar group is trying to obstruct the election process, whereas now the nominations of the candidates have also been filed and the date for withdrawal of names has also passed. At the same time, sharad pawar group's senior advocate abhishek Manu Singhvi said that the clock election symbol has been associated with ncp for 30 years and it has also become a part of Sharad Pawar's identity. In such a situation, Singhvi requested the court to give some other election symbol to ajit pawar faction so that there is no confusion among the voters.
