Remo D'Souza knocks SC's door to get fraud case quashed!
The supreme court has issued a notice on the petition of choreographer Remo D'Souza. Remo had reached the supreme court to get the fraud case going on against him in ghaziabad quashed. The bench of Justice surya Kant and Ujjwal Bhuiyan has issued notice to the complainant of the case as well as the Uttar Pradesh government. The court refused to stay the case and said that it will hear the case next week.
What is the allegation on Remo D'Souza?
Let us tell you that in this case registered in 2016, Remo is accused of taking Rs 5 crore from Ghaziabad's Satendra Tyagi to make the film 'Amar Must Die' and not returning double the amount as promised. Tyagi says that he had given money to Remo in 2013. But this film was never made. The police has completed the investigation in this case and filed a charge sheet against Remo. At the same time, allahabad High court has already refused to cancel the case.
What did the supreme court say?
In a brief hearing today, the judges asked Remo's lawyer why he has come to the supreme court in 2024 to cancel the summons issued by the court in 2020? The lawyer told that his revision petition was pending in the High Court. On this, the bench said that the petitioner has not delayed in challenging the summons on his behalf. Therefore, we are issuing notice to the parties involved in the case.
