Kirit Somaiya complains to ECI about Maulana Nomani!
Kirit Somaiya has written a letter to Chief election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar and lodged a complaint against Maulana Khalilur rahman Sajjad Nomani. He has alleged that Nomani is giving hate speech and appealing to Muslims to socially boycott bjp supporters. He is also appealing for vote jihad to defeat BJP. Nomani has also given clarification on this.
Kirit Somaiya said in his complaint, "Maulana has appealed to boycott Muslims who vote for bjp in his speech. This speech is being circulated on social media. I appeal to you to take appropriate action." Kirit Somaiya has also shared the link of the video with the election Commission. In a video, Nomani is heard saying, "If someone in your area supports a tyrant, boycott him. I know that some of your people supported the bjp in the lok sabha elections. Such people should be stopped from hookah-paani. Such people should be socially boycotted. Salam-dua should be stopped from such people."
Nomani said this in his defence
After BJP's allegations, Nomani said in his defence that the allegations made against me are false. We got a chance to meet many candidates. They kept coming to me, we took a pledge and took a written pledge from some people. Then we made a list. Therefore, giving it this angle that this is vote jihad and Muslims are being gathered and used against Hindus, is a blatant lie and deceit. Nomani said, "Yesterday I also said in an interview to a YouTube channel that what kind of vote jihad is this whose commander is sharad pawar and whose great soldiers include uddhav thackeray, rahul Gandhi, Nanaji Patole. I hope this misunderstanding will be cleared."
