The allegations against Adani actually a conspiracy
After former Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi, rajya sabha MP and lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani has also come out in defense of the adani Group and the group's chairman gautam Adani. Mahesh Jethmalani said, the allegations leveled against the adani Group in the US are a conspiracy to stop India's economic development journey. Attacking the opposition party congress, he said, the congress is raising the issue only for political gains. He said, the opposition should provide credible evidence before demanding a JPC against the adani Group.
The senior advocate said, no evidence has been presented in the indictment of the US Department of Justice regarding giving bribe in India. He said, it has also not been told in the indictment which law has been violated in India. Attacking the congress, Mahesh Jethmalani said, the noise that the opposition party is making about this is completely wrong. He asked, what is the evidence that proves that bribes were paid to indian officials to get solar energy related contracts? He said, nothing like this has been said in the indictment of the US Justice Department.
Attacking the congress party, Mahesh Jethmalani said, the party is blindly trusting the allegations against this industrial group of india which has done very important business in india and abroad. This is not in the interest of india and the indictment of the US court should not be trusted which has not given any evidence. And it has also not been told that adani or the bond issuing company adani Green has done anything wrong in India. Jethmalani said, he does not understand on the basis of which evidence the US judge who issued the indictment has taken this action.
Jethmalani said, congress is fueling the issue for political gains and this is a conspiracy to stop India's growth story. He said, you are after a corporate group and trying to defame the Prime Minister. He said, he (Gautam Adani) is an industrialist who has successfully completed many infrastructure projects in india and abroad, which you should be proud of. He said, do not rush to condemn him (Gautam Adani) after the US indictment. You are behaving like a local agent of a foreign power that is engaged in stopping India's economic growth. Indirectly, you are harming retail investors. Mahesh Jethmalani said, until the congress presents a concrete and credible group, there is no need for any authority or joint parliamentary committee investigation in India. He said, you present the evidence, you only want to create some kind of noise and disrupt the parliament which is not appropriate at all.
