What’s the punishment from Railways or throwing stones at a train?
Perhaps you must have often heard that an unknown person has thrown stones at a train. Such incidents have increased in recent times, but do you know what are the laws against it? How much punishment can you get if you dare to throw stones at a train? Actually, the law of the government of india is very strict for throwing stones at a train, so if you do this, your troubles can increase.
Meanwhile under Section 152 and 153 of the Railway Act, criminals who throw stones at a train can be sentenced to life imprisonment or up to ten years in jail. Apart from this, there are many other sections in the Railway Act, under which there is a provision for punishment in crimes related to railway property. Under Section 166 (B) of the Railway Act, pasting a bill in a train can result in six months of imprisonment or a fine of Rs 500 or both.
Apart from this, under Section 141 of the Railway Act, if caught in chain pulling, a fine of up to one thousand rupees or imprisonment of up to one year can be imposed. Under Section 174 of the Railway Act, those who obstruct train operations by sitting on the railway track or by obstructing it, tampering with the railway hosepipe or damaging the signal can be imprisoned for two years or fined two thousand rupees or both.
Under Section 146 and 147 of the Railway Act, obstructing the work of railway employees, illegally entering the railway or any part of it can lead to six months imprisonment or fine of one thousand rupees or both.
