Meanwhile the election commission has made a fixed procedure for getting names removed from the voter list. For this, a draft notification of the names of voters is issued by the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO). Any voter of the concerned area can object to any name. This list is sent to all political parties and is displayed on the website of the Chief election Officer, the notice board of the Electoral Registration Officer and polling stations.
Moreover if someone wants to inform the Electoral Registration Officer or Booth Level Officer that the name of a voter should not be in the list of that constituency for some reason, then he has to register an objection through Form 7. The reason for deletion of the name can be death or change of address. Form 7 can be downloaded online or it can also be obtained from the Electoral Registration Officer. Objection has to be lodged within 30 days from the date of publication of the draft notification. The decision of the Electoral Registration Officer is final regarding whether the name of the voter should be removed from the voter list or not.
