What is the demands of farmers protesting so long?
Reportedly after the haryana and maharashtra assembly elections and just before the delhi elections, the anger of farmers against the Center has once again come on the road. From noida to Shambhu data-border, farmers have set out for delhi march. In fact, farmers are angry over many of their demands including legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP). They say that the central government should implement the demands of the farmers as per the promises.
Currently in view of the farmers' march towards the national capital, security was tightened on the delhi data-border on Sunday. A senior delhi police official told news agency PTI-Bhasha, "Delhi police is on alert and security has been tightened on the data-border. At present, a small number of forces have been deployed at Singhu data-border, but it can be increased according to the situation at Shambhu data-border on Punjab-Haryana data-border.
Moreover he said that traffic is likely to be affected due to security arrangements on the data-border and in the central part of Delhi. The delhi police officer also said that the police is also keeping an eye on the noida data-border, where another group of farmers from Uttar Pradesh is protesting. The officer said that the police is ready to deal with every kind of situation. The farmers allege that the Center has made up its mind not to talk to the farmers and laborers. They are using force to stop us. Let us tell you that apart from MSP, farmers are demanding loan waiver, pension for farmers and farm laborers and no increase in electricity rates. They are also demanding justice for the victims of the 2021 Lakhimpur Kheri violence, restoration of the Land Acquisition Act 2013, and compensation for the families of farmers killed during the previous agitation in 2020-21.
