Cheating in the name of marriage since 2017!
The cyber unit of delhi police has arrested a man named Manoj Gehlyan. According to the police, the accused had created fake profiles on different matrimonial sites. The accused used to introduce himself as a manager in a big multinational company and then by promising marriage, he would first make friends with women and then by gaining their trust, he would get their credit card, debit card and bank details and then transfer money from the account without telling them.
The person who claimed to be the manager turned out to be a security guard
According to delhi police, a woman had given a complaint to the cyber unit of Western district. After which the police started the investigation. The police came to know that the accused had uploaded his fake profiles on jeevansaathi.com, Shaadi.com, Betterhalf.ai.
When the police started the investigation through the bank account of the victim woman, the police came to know about the bank accounts of the accused in which the money was transferred. After which, the police, while proceeding with the investigation, reached Usmanpur area of delhi where the accused Manoj Gahlayan was living. During interrogation, the accused confessed his crime and told that he used to work as a security guard. In the year 2017, he uploaded his fake profile on the matrimonial site and since then he has been cheating women.
Cheated hundreds of women
According to the police, the bank account of the accused is being searched and the police is investigating how many women Manoj Gahlayan has cheated in this way. police officials say that during interrogation, Manoj has confessed to cheating hundreds of women.
