Ruckus in Hingoli after objectionable message on Islam
16 people have been arrested for pelting stones at a businessman's house in Hingoli, Maharashtra, over an objectionable message sent on whatsapp regarding Islam. A police official gave this information on Monday. The official said that Vasmat Sub-Divisional police Officer (SDPO) Rajkumar Kendra (54) was also injured in the stone pelting incident in Mondha on sunday (December 15) evening.
He said that a mob of 50 people pelted stones at a shop and were also going to vandalize the house of businessman Kailash Kabra. Kabra had allegedly sent an objectionable message on whatsapp about Islam. When Rajkumar Kendra and his team tried to stop the stone pelting, they were also injured. Additional forces were sent to the spot and the police lathi-charged.

police said that eight people were detained from the spot, while eight more were detained after a search operation in the surrounding area. The officer said that based on the complaint lodged by Rajkumar Kendra at the Vasmat police station, the arrested people have been charged under the indian Justice Code for attempt to murder, rioting, preventing a public servant from discharging his duty, voluntarily causing hurt and other crimes. He said that efforts are on to nab the other 20 people involved in the stone pelting incident.
Last month also, during the Ekadashi puja in Jalgaon, there was an incident of tension and stone pelting between two groups. police said that there was a dispute between the children of two communities over a small matter. The dispute arose due to the use of some abusive words. The video of this case also went viral on social media.
