Proposal to send back DC of South Zone passed in MCD House!

On Thursday, the proceedings of the MCD house were uproarious but amidst this uproar, a proposal was also passed with majority. This proposal was to send South Zone Deputy Commissioner Badal Kumar to his original department, which was placed in the house by the ruling party and was passed by voice vote. Badal Kumar, originally from the indian Statistical Service, was on deputation in MCD for a year, his deputation period ended in July 2024. According to the recruitment rules, only six out of 12 Deputy Commissioners (DCs) are allowed to serve on deputation at any time, but currently, all 12 DCs of MCD are on deputation.

Decision to relieve from charge as per established procedures

Earlier, Badal Kumar had to data-face repeated transfers due to his performance in other areas of MCD. Now the MCD house has decided to relieve him from his charge as per established procedures. The Municipal Corporation of delhi (MCD) house has passed a proposal to send South Zone Deputy Commissioner Badal Kumar back to his original department.
